Guinness Trust, Harwell St.
Designed to meet Code 5 of the code for sustainable homes, this exciting housing scheme at Harwell Street, Stonehouse, Plymouth, places Mitchell Architects at the forefront of sustainable design in the South West. The scheme has been designed to tackle fuel poverty for residents. Materials have been carefully selected to gain maximum credits from ‘the green guide for specification’. The flats themselves have been carefully designed to provide ultimate comfort to the residents by maximising natural daylight, having high levels of sound insulation between flats, maximising private space with balconies and communal gardens whilst also providing accommodation which could be adapted for a wheelchair user if required.
